I want to share the actual workflow I used to build the "Odoo for Education" system (featuring 22 custom modules)—a journey accelerated by AI at every stage:
🧠 Phase 1: Ideation & Vision Shaping (AI as the Strategist) Instead of brainstorming alone, I used large language models (like GPT-4) as a strategic partner to brainstorm concepts, analyze scenarios, and structure the vision into a logical framework for all 22 modules.
🏗️ Phase 2: Architecture & Data Design (AI as the Architect) From that framework, I prompted the AI to draft the system architecture, propose a database schema for PostgreSQL, and generate user flow diagrams. The AI automated nearly 80% of the foundational design work.
💻 Phase 3: Coding & Debugging (AI as the Senior Developer) This is where GitHub Copilot shined. It didn't just autocomplete code; it suggested complex functions, wrote unit tests, and helped me debug exponentially faster. I was no longer coding alone; I was "pair programming" with an AI.
🚀 Phase 4: Deployment & Prototyping (AI as the DevOps Engineer) Once the source code was ready, I used AI to generate deployment scripts for cloud platforms. And to help stakeholders visualize the final product, I even built an interactive HTML/CSS/JS prototype in just a few hours—a task that would have previously taken weeks.
